The Women’s Clinic of Columbus in the United States of America has donated an ultrasound machine to IWHC to help provide free ultrasound care to young women in the Upper East Region of Ghana. The Ultrasound machine uses sound waves to examine the internal structure of the body. It can also be used to perform sonographic diagnosis in pregnant women as well as determine gender of a baby during pregnancy.
The centre director of IWHC, Gladys Anayem who received the Ultrasound machine thanked the Executive Director of the Women’s Clinic of Columbus, Char Dunbar and her team for the kind gesture and promised to make full use of the machine in support of young women in the Upper East Region.
She however added that twenty-three (23) young women have so far benefited from the Ultrasound machine at no cost within the first month of its usage in February 2021.
