IWHC visits teenage mothers and three Health facilities in Builsa North

International Women’s Hope Centre a non-governmental organization operating in the Upper East Region in the area of Youth Personal development, Sexual integrity, Social Skills and mentoring of young girls have donated 120 twenty baby items and liquid Soap as well as reusable facemask to expectant teenage mothers and three Health facilities in the Builsa North District of the Upper East Region.

Madam Gladys Anayem the Director of International women’s hope center in handing over the items at separate functions in Chuchuliga, Sandema and Siniensi all in the Builsa North District of the Upper East Region thanked Madam Gladys Adochim through whose initiative the organization was setup and have been operating in the Upper East Regional Capital Bolgatanga for the past three years.

She Said the donation forms part of the organization’s contribution to supporting teenage mothers and maternity wards that cater for these expectant mothers.

She praised the teenage expectant mothers for keeping their pregnancies and did not abort them as the international women’s hope center frowns on abortion and children are gift from God.

She encouraged the young teenagers to go back to school to continue their education or either learn a trade after they deliver.

Madam Comfort Awonalim Amoak the Builsa North District acting public Health Nurse who received the items on behalf of the District Director of the Ghana Health service thanked the organization for coming to the aid of expectant teenage mothers and encouraged them not to let their pregnancies be an obstacle to their education and success in life, it should rather be a motivation to strive to achieve all that they intend to pursue or achieve in life.

One of the beneficiaries Madam Akoalimalie Akanfenab who could not hide her joy and words of encouragement from the Director of the international Women’s hope center, on behalf of  the expectant teenage mothers expressed gratitude to the organization for the their words of encouragement and support saying “ you have really brought us hope with your words of encouragement at a time that even our own family members lost hope in us due to our mistake of getting pregnant at an early age, may God bless you to continue touching life’s and giving hope to girls who have found themselves in our shoes”.

The items donated include, baby outfits, diapers, detergents, baby powders, napkins, baby soap, baby foot wears, maternity dresses, Cloth among others which were distributed to all the expectant mothers the organization also handed over nineteen (19) 4.5 liters of liquid soap, eighteen (18) 500ml liquid soap and eighteen (18) reusable facemask to Midwives at the various facilities visited.
